The Farm Liaison and Sustainability (FLS) Coordinator is responsible for assisting the dairy farms that supply Idaho Milk Products with programs that improve milk quality, promote excellence in animal welfare and support continuous improvement in sustainable agricultural practices. The position is responsible for working with farms to collect and report customer required data on sustainable agricultural practices, implement systems for third party animal welfare audits, organize efforts to monitor and improve sanitation practices (and milk quality) and interface with customer’s to demonstrate IMP’s sustainability efforts. The FLS Coordinator should work with the dairies to build trust and make implementation of new programs as easy and effective as possible while achieving the goal of improved milk quality and compliance with customer required programs.  He/she is responsible for the development and analysis of the Sustainability program budget, working with the farms to develop schedules for program development and audits, assisting farms with program implementation, collection and recording of program data, monitoring incoming milk quality, developing tactical plans to assist program implementation and reporting results to the farms, customers and IMP managers.  He/she works closely with colleagues at the farms, Production, Quality and Marketing & Sales to continuously improve supply chain sustainability.   



  • Assists Producer dairies with developing improved animal welfare and agricultural sustainability programs.
  • Works with our third-party cleaning chemical company to analyze farm sanitation practices (milker to load out) and make recommendations for improved sanitation.  Organizes equipment upgrades or modifications if necessary.
  • Schedules third party audits for animal welfare compliance and certification.
  • Works with the dairies to maintain proper record keeping and updated agricultural sustainability data to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Helps organize and lead customer visits to select dairies.
  • Helps organize and implement Super Kosher rabbinical supervision at the farms. 
  • Prepares presentations and reports that are communicated to the organization.
  • Performs all other projects as assigned.
  • Maintains dairy related documentation for Approved Supplier Program.
  • Performs internal audits relating to dairy practices and documentation.




  • Preferred: BA/BS degree in Dairy Science, Agricultural Science or Animal Science or other related field


  • Minimum 3 years experience on a dairy farm.
  • Familiarity with agricultural best practices.
  • Familiarity with animal welfare best practices.
  • Knowledge of food sanitation.
  • Proven expertise in problem solving, experimental methods and PC applications.

  • Knowledge of dairy science, animal science and agriculture best practices.
  • Knowledge of food production sanitation, best animal welfare practices and agricultural sustainability programs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional ascending and/or descending of ladders and stairs using feet and legs and/or hands and arms on a regular basis. Body agility is emphasized.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances on a regular basis.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time at a computer.
  • Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.  Includes activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Subject to up to at least 92db’s.
