An Aggregate Operator is responsible for maintaining the aggregate plant and ensuring products are loaded and delivered to correct customers and vendors.
Operate front end loader, dozer, excavator or other heavy mobile equipment
Runs aggregate crushing, screening or wash plant
Provides routine and preventative maintenance on aggregate plant
Fixes and repairs plant breakdowns
Watches for and fixes any safety or environmental hazards or noncompliance issues
Coordinate with quality control to ensure aggregate specifications
Ensure inventory (stockpile) is moved as needed
Manage excessive dust by watering the roads
Ensure a critical supply of parts are in stock and available in case of a breakdown
Coordinate with dump drivers to ensure correct product is loaded on trucks
Coordinate with scale operator to communicate customer orders
Communicate with customers to ensure correct product is loaded and provide good service
Work in indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold temperatures
Work near moving machinery and equipment - could include electrical hazards
