Position Summary

The Director of Global Marketing and Communications reports to the SVP of Sales and will be located at our HQ in San Jose, CA.  The Director of Global Marketing and Communication is responsible for creating and cultivating a new and modernized NeoPhotonics brand that resonates to all audiences across the globe.  In partnership with executive leadership and working closely with HR and product teams, you will have the opportunity to build the new NeoPhotonics brand from the inside out.  In addition, this position will be the liaison for Investor relations at NeoPhotonics responsible for all communications activities with investors and media.

The ideal candidate will be creative, collaborative and strategic while possessing passion and grit for all things branding with the ability to get things done.


How You will Make a Difference

  • Guide the strategy and lead the execution of all major Global marketing and communication initiatives, projects and programs

  • Oversee the efforts to develop and evangelize a scalable framework that helps NeoPhotonics effectively and consistently express the core positioning of our brand to our global customer base and other key audiences

  • Develop framework, hierarchy and branding strategies for existing and new products and services

  • Help drive significant increases in overall awareness of NeoPhotonics brand among target audiences through brand building activities, events, campaigns and other corporate programs and activities

  • In partnership with HR leadership, help define and execute our employee value proposition; defining who we are, what we stand for and what differentiates us to help position us as an employer of choice

  • Define and develop NeoPhotonics customer experience strategy and execute large-scale corporate events, trade shows, programs and initiatives

  • Define target markets and opportunities to help us understand how our products and services are perceived

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help produce content that effectively communicates and elevates NeoPhotonics brand while managing and tracking ROI

  • Engage across the organization to strengthen understanding of NeoPhotonics vision, mission, values, goals and priorities

  • Select and manage 3rd party partners to deliver and execute NeoPhotonics brand strategy

  • Under the guidance and partnership with the executive team, create content and messaging for investor relations activities and interactions

  • Serve as NeoPhotonics media liaison and partner and guide executives on interacting with trade media


What You Need to Win

  • BS / BA in Marketing, business or related field (MBA highly preferred)

  • 10+ years of experience leading corporate marketing for B2B technology organization(s)

  • 5+ years managing and leading a high-performing team across multiple functions and disciplines

  • Significant experience in B2B technology marketing with solid understanding of telecommunications / semi-conductor industry

  • Deep expertise in brand strategy, management, positioning and messaging

  • Demonstrated experience in developing, executing and measuring impact of multi-channel brand advertising campaigns

  • Prove ability to design and execute large-scale corporate marketing initiatives, including corporate events and trade shows

  • Must have the ability to partner and influence both internal and external stakeholders across the organization

  • Must possess exceptional writing / verbal communications and presentation skills

  • Experience managing creative and brand agencies, budgets and negotiating contract
