Senior/Principal Optical Design Engineer

Title: Senior/Principal Optical Design Engineer

Description:

Responsible for the optical design, simulation, test, and performance optimizations of high speed coherent system and architectures. This position requires to be responsible for system performance specifications and component requirement specifications of coherent transceiver modules and their integrated components.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Optical design, system architectures and product specifications of coherent modules.
  • Optical performance optimizations of coherent modules with coherent DSP
  • Simulation of impacts of component imperfection on optical performances
  • Generate component requirement specifications.
  • Support product development and customer technical inquiries, provide analysis of technical issues, and propose solutions

Qualifications:

  • Degree in relevant technical field
    • Ph. D. or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in the following fields:
    • Detailed theoretical and hands-on experiences of coherent system and architectures
    • System design & optimization and component requirements for coherent modules
    • Coherent DSP capability including equalization and imperfection compensation
    • Proficiency in the use of optical system simulation software
    • Product design of coherent modules and integrated components
    • Knowledge of optical component and IC including driver, modulator, TIA, ICR, EDFA, SOA, TOF, DSP ASIC, etc.
