FOIA Specialist

Bart & Associates (B&A) is currently seeking a FOIA Specialist to support a Federal project in Washington, DC!

The FOIA Specialist should have an active TS Clearance to support the A/GIS/IPS Archiving and Access Systems Management Division of the Department of State.


  • Enter lists of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) document citations and place corresponding review results next to appropriate document. 
  • Record FOIA search review and concurrence tasking and their comebacks.
  • Open new FOIA cases.
  • Register classification upgrades or downgrades, as appropriate, on documents.
  • Prepare FOIA documents for scanning (checking classification levels, removing staples, inserting separator sheets).
  • Scan documents into the FREEDOMS system and route documents to relevant team(s).
  • Execute simple searches of the FREEDOMS database and generate standard reviewers’ worksheets/reports.
  • Oversee and/or perform the SAS-FREDOMS quality control interface “clean-up” regarding SMART messages.

EDUCATION: Minimum High School Diploma.
