Bart & Associates (B&A) is currently seeking an Acquisition Support Specialist to join our team on a Federal project in Washington, DC!

The successful candidate will serve as an Acquisition and Deployment Support Specialist supporting a contract with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) CWMD (Chemical and Weapons of Mass Destruction) Acquisition Directorate.



  • Developing acquisition strategies and supporting program managers in program execution.
  • Preparing program documentation such as acquisition plans and Requests for Proposals to support program execution and governance; preparing briefings, status reports and similar products to support PADD, DNDO, and DHS leadership requirements.
  • Interpreting and applying DHS and DNDO acquisition guidance and recommending tailoring and streamlining where appropriate.
  • Establishing, updating, maintaining, and tracking execution of budgets; providing inputs to support the DNDO Future Years Homeland Security Program (FYHSP).
  • Preparing and coordinating program reviews and interfacing across a broad stakeholder community and different functional areas: federal, state and local mission partners; DHS HQ; inter-agency; industry; and requirements generation, R&D, and sustainment.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience providing program management, acquisition, contract execution and life-cycle support to a major DHS, DOD, or other federal agency program.
  • Demonstrated experience working as an acquisition specialist supporting a multi-disciplinary team in a complex government system development and acquisition environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of government acquisition and systems engineering process frameworks and experience contributing to the development of key systems engineering life cycle (SELC) artifacts
  • Superior interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • An ACTIVE Secret clearance is required.
