Clinical Operations Production Manager

We are seeking a Clinical Operations Production Manager with Lean experience to join our clinical operations leadership team as we continue to build our profile as a national leader in the industry.  AllMed’s innovative solution for health plans and payer organizations allows them to partner with AllMed for utilization management solutions, with a primary focus on specialist reviews of pre-authorization and appeals.  Our business has grown steadily over the past several years, as health plans seek to outsource more of their routine physician review processes to companies like AllMed.

 

In this position, you will be responsible for production flow management, resource load-balancing and scheduling, peer fee management, implementation management, operational excellence, process improvement, and customer satisfaction through application of Lean management principles. The Clinical Operations Production Manager provides leadership to frontline staff to ensure achievement of key performance metric targets and delivery of high-quality, on-time reviews to our clients. This role reports to the Clinical Operations Director.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing daily end-to-end production supervisors & staff, including the functions of customer service, intake, dispatch, standard case prep, standard editing, and peer calls to ensure turnaround expectations are met or exceeded
  • Directing and managing balancing of resources across value stream to ensure optimal flow
  • Monitoring, analyzing, tracking, reporting and acting on key performance metrics to achieve production and customer service targets
  • Managing team performance, leading by example, and mentoring team members to increase efficiency, quality and capability
  • Managing peer fees to meet margin targets
  • Leading daily huddles and staff meetings
  • Managing operational implementation of new clients, including project management and facilitation of onboarding meetings with Sales, Clinical Operations, Medical Director/PVS, and IT
  • Managing continuous improvement projects that support key business initiatives
  • Participating in cross functional teams and utilizing AllMed Lean tools to drive continuous improvement activities including root cause identification and problem solving to improve processes
  • Other duties as directed by Senior Clinical Operations leadership
  • Participating in the peer reviewer and operations staff performance feedback systems and utilizing data to identify areas for quality and operational improvement:
    • Providing data into performance feedback systems
    • Analyzing performance data to provide Clinical Operations and Medical Director leadership with insight to continually improve turn-around-times, quality, and peer fee margin

 

Qualifications include:

  • A minimum of 3 years of leadership/management experience within a production environment, preferably within a utilization review, case management or other healthcare operations setting
  • Bachelor’s degree required and an MBA or advanced degree is preferred
  • Experience in Healthcare or Health Plan, Utilization Management or Customer Service highly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, using Excel and other tools to develop/model production metrics and trends
  • Effectively respond with urgency to issues impacting production
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and general web applications
  • Experience developing operational standards, including standard work, job aids and policies
  • A passion for empowering and developing employees for success
  • Effective in prioritizing and managing projects
  • Ability to effectively manage change
  • Strong multi-tasking, decision making and advanced problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal, teamwork and verbal communication skills
