We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join our IT team. This is a full-time opportunity working at our beautiful office in downtown Portland, Oregon. 

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The IT Systems Administrator II supports LANs, WANs, network segments, internet, and intranet systems. Additionally, this role is also responsible for configuration and management of Allmed systems such as firewalls, switches, ConnectWise, McAfee ePO, VMWare and VeeamOne. This role also supports networked equipment and infrastructure devices to include: Windows servers and third-party devices, security and monitoring application systems, Windows workstations, VMWare ESXi and vCenter Server, Citrix (NetScaler, Storefront and XenApp), backup/replication solutions and the telephony infrastructure for the office environment. Also, this person creates and applies group policy objects and organizational units. The Systems Administrator II will source and suggest network upgrades/changes, as well as new systems and software. Additionally, this role will provide desktop support for internal staff and remote location users, as well as business associates and clients. This role helps ensure that IT resources are managed according to organizational policies and protocols. This person reports to the Network Systems Manager and serves as a primary IT resource in their absence. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Configure and deploy Windows servers and third-party devices
  • Create and apply firewall and network switch changes
  • Lead/Assist with enterprise network administration, configuration planning and processes
  • Provide desktop, telephone, and remote user support
  • Manage and configure group policy objects, OUs, user email accounts, distribution and security groups, as well as network file share permissions
  • Deploy Citrix Gold Images and administrator Citrix NetScaler and Studio
  • Lead/Assist in the procurement process for hardware and software
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of installation and configuration procedures
  • Research and recommend innovations and automations, where possible, for system administration tasks
  • Assist with bios, firmware, Microsoft, VMWare and other system or appliance updates
  • Daily monitoring of systems, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs to include backups
  • Respond to security alerts and assist in identifying vulnerabilities and potential intrusions
  • Monitor the health and maintenance of technical security controls
  • Perform backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary
  • Repair and recover from network, hardware or software failures and coordinate/communicate with impacted constituencies
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities
  • Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedural documentation
  • Maintain server room and data center environmental and monitoring equipment

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Broad depth of technology and administration expertise
  • Proficiency with the tools and methods used to administer the network, server, workstation, telephony and application components that comprise an enterprise class IT infrastructure
  • Ability to work effectively with a minimum of supervision
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of professional staff from varied disciplines and management levels
  • Excellent communications skills with a strong customer service orientation
