PHARMACY TECHNICIAN – Medical Review Clinician Assistant

We are currently seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our MedCert team as a Medical Review Clinician Assistant. This position is located in our downtown Portland, OR office.


This position works at multiple phases of the review process for pharmacy and medical reviews, including: preparation of cases to ensure essential materials have been submitted, coordination of documentation sent to reviewers, writing clinical summaries, reviewing/editing returned reviews, ensuring determination accuracy, checking medical facts, and ensuring quality and production parameters are met. The Medical Review Clinician Assistant will be asked to provide clinical support and information in the area of Medicare, Medicaid and commercial drug plan medication and other medical reviews and ensure quality and timeliness of the reviews returned to the client.


  • Associate degree from an accredited college
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician, under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist
  • Must have experience in a fast-paced pharmacy setting of at least 1-3 years, and possess knowledge of healthcare/pharmacy industry, terminology, and standards
  • Experience with Medicare rules and regulations, including pharmacy benefit language
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, writing competency, customer service orientation and teamwork ethic are essential


  • Bachelors degree is preferred
