WSP has a unique opportunity for a Marketing Coordinator on a 6 month contract to join our national team of experts who operate as strategic partners to their respective businesses, and who create, lead and execute on activities that enhance our market position and reputation as Canada's leading engineering services and design consulting firm.


As a Marketing Coordinator you'll craft and deliver world class communications and marketing initiatives in support of our business, and your region(s). The opportunities that exist are supporting our National business lines and key strategic regions respectively. You'll partner at the regional level, and influence, guide and strategize on approaches internal and external communications and marketing initiatives in support of the region’s growth targets and effectively positioning WSP in identified markets and sectors. 


You'll plan, coordinate and execute innovative approaches to promoting WSP, through various mediums including marketing campaigns, promotions, qualifications, communications and collateral.

  • You'll be supporting and executing services marketing strategies and campaigns across Canada for your region or business line through collaboration and partnership with Marketing Managers and Local Market stakeholders within the business line; 
  • You'll work closely with the national marketing and communications team to drive improvement internally and share best practices and new strategies and tools to enhance marketing's offering internally; 
  • As the marketing coordinator, you'll support the creation, development and delivery of internal and external communications, as well as the local market engagement plan, goals, objectives and budgets;
  • With stakeholder buy-in, you'll be responsible for managing and leading the execution of approved marketing campaigns for the region/market;
  • To ensure core communication channels are up-to-date, you'll manage various channels including the company intranet, Sharepoint sites, prepare newsletters, etc.;
  • With a focus on external content, you'll provide direction and support on content development and be expected to write content relevant to the local market for the website and social media platforms;
  • You'll be creating and implementing processes and procedures to help streamline marketing and business development requests, track events, sponsorship spending and proposal related activities;
  • To enhance the ability to deliver crisp and engaging marketing value-add, you'll develop and maintain a library of templates and bespoke collateral and promotional material;
  • As a strategically aligned partner to the business, you'll assist with the coordination and preparation of qualifications packages (national, multidisciplinary, strategic or high value) and may assist with other marketing proposal and business development activities including event coordination;
  • In keeping with our focus on learning and development for our staff and in position ourselves as technical experts for our clients, you'll coordinate, execute and attend significant regional client events, technical presentations, lunch and learns, trade shows, events, sponsorships, etc;
  • Working collaboratively with our internal teams, you'll work closely with other shared services on corporate initiatives;


  • A Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration coupled with intermediate (3-5+) experience in communications, marketing or business development along with a solid understanding of how to market a service versus a product;
  • Prior experience working in an engineering consulting, professional services or otherwise similar business environment;
  • Experience in working collaboratively with key stakeholder across the company and in influencing senior leaders and supporting businesses to achieve substantial portfolio growth;
  • Comfort working autonomously and the confidence to lead with minimal supervision/direction - you're a self-starter with initiative and drive;
  • Proven sales, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills thorough knowledge of current marketplace trends and activities;
  • A track record of creating a climate where people want to do their best through working collaboratively, empowering teams to identify and solve problems, creating a clear sense of identity with the company, and holding teams accountable for meeting their collective goals;
