MONTREAL OR THORNHILL

 

WSP is currently seeking for hands-on Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Business Intelligence and Data Integration team. Reporting to the Business Intelligence Lead the BI Analyst will be responsible to determine business needs, to create and support Power BI dashboards, reports, datasets and dataflows; to develop and maintain BI solutions to deliver high quality data to our users; to export data in various formats for internal and external purposes. The position is located in Quebec (Montreal) or Ontario (Thornhill).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gather requirements, advise business on how to measure their business processes and recommend appropriate metrics to achieve business value;
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, document and troubleshoot PowerBI reports, dashboards, datasets and dataflows from high level specifications;
  • Write queries, analyze, visualize, model, and provide analytics on data to build reporting solutions to support a variety of company initiatives;
  • Maintain, monitor and support production processes and respond to error and emergency issues;
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of ETL processes to meet business needs;
  • Conduct unit tests and assist in test preparations to ensure data integrity and data quality;
  • Design and implement technical enhancements to existing reports and dashboards;
  • Document technical requirements (integration solutions, ETL, mapping, etc.).
 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering or equivalent;
  • 3+ years of experience working with PowerBI and DAX queries;
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, preparation and modeling;
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft BI Stack (SQL, SSIS, SSRS, Power Platform);
  • Strong development experience with MS SQL writing queries and procedures including performance tuning;
  • Excellent knowledge and technical aptitude for understanding relational databases, dimensional modeling and data warehousing;
  • Strong analytical, organization, time management, problem solving and customer service skills;
  • Proficient experience and knowledge with Enterprise applications and business processes;
  • Must be able to multi-task between various tasks and projects;
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies and tools (Azure DevOps);
  • Drive to learn new technologies and techniques;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills at the business and technical levels;
  • Experience with Azure databases and cloud integration;
  • Bilingual (English and French) both written and oral required.
