The Opportunity:

At WSP our Geotechnical team is working hard to continue to build and enhance our reputation as one of the country's best geotechnical team of experts in multi-disciplinary design. We're currently hiring for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnical team and to be located at either our new Toronto location or in our Markham location.

A day in the life:

  • You'll be working on some of the most exciting and high profile projects in Ontario and Canada, and be part of shaping the future history of an entire region;
  • You'll be a key member of a project that can offer high complexity work, and a chance to challenge yourself and what you've learned so far, and an opportunity push your skills to the next level with a team a experienced, collaborative managers who are among the best in the industry;
  • You'll be responsible for maintaining a technical involvement in projects and proposals as well as establishing standard methodologies for Geotechnical design and and improving our practice; 
  • You'll be communicating regularly with the wider WSP geotechnical community with over 375 staff across Canada;
  • You'll be positioning WSP as a key advisor and consultant for our clients, and a true business partner;
  • You'll be representing WSP in the community to raise local brand awareness;

We'd love to hear from you if you have...

  • A degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Geological Engineering as well as a professional engineering license in Ontario;
  • Experience in the transportation sector working on foundation projects for the Ministry of Transportation in Ontario;
  • RAQ’s (Registry, Appraisal & Qualification) Geotechnical (Structures and Embankments) medium or high complexity qualified or capable of acquiring qualification;
  • The ability to be mobile in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), and openness to be doing a variety of work that may include field and office-based work;
  • Experience writing geotechnical reports and expertise with commonly used geotechnical software;
