Overview of the Opportunity:

WSP is currently seeking a Facilities Coordinator to join our Facilities and Real Estate department and to be based in our Thornhill office. Reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager for Ontario, this position will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Thornhill office, which is home to over 700+ employees. Participating in activities and improvements around the office, this role is perfect for those who are interested in variety with their daily work and the opportunity and passion to make positive changes that will impact our main office in Ontario.

A day in the life:

  • You will oversee, coach and provide support to front desk receptionists and floater coverage providers; 
  • You'll help design and implement office policies and procedures for proactive and scheduled maintenance of all areas and equipment;
  • You will attend Joint Health and Safety Committee Meetings to assist in identifying, initiating and coordinate corrective actions required to maintain office HSE;
  • You can expect to liaise with the building to communicate day to day issues that arise, e.g. elevators out of service, fire evacuation procedures, etc.;  
  • You'll assist the Facilities Manager in monitoring and managing costs to meet budget and act as deputy in their absence;
  • You will work as part of the broader national facilities team to maintain a tidy, safe and functional working environment in which employees can take pride and feel connected, with a sense of wellness and wellbeing;
  • You'll maintain updated floor plans including monitoring the on-boarding and off-boarding of employees, vacancies, office transfers, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned/required. 
 

We'd love to hear from you if you have...

  • Demonstrated previous administrative/facilities related experience to WSP's Canadian head office;
  • A good grasp of the MS Office Suite, including advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook;
  • You enjoy interacting with others and have a strong focus on customer service;
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to wear multiple hats, and juggle multiple competing priorities;
  • A self-starter attitude and dislike being bored/idle, and are always looking for ways to add and contribute to the team;
  • You enjoy working in a national team and having the ability to put forward ideas on how to improve the view of facilities services across Canada for all 150 locations;
  • You're a relationship-builder who is able to communicate successfully at all levels of the organization regardless of title or seniority and leave a positive impression.
