At WSP, we're continuing to grow and develop our expertise in Geotechnical Engineering, operating as a trusted advisor and technical expert on engineering design challenges for our clients across multiple industries including transportation, infrastructure, and buildings. Our team is growing, and as a result we are currently hiring for one of Canada's leading Geotechnical Engineering minds in our Winnipeg office.
You will play a critical role in further developing our business, our brand, and our clients. This role is also expected to act in a mentoring capacity to junior staff within project teams by providing day-to-day guidance and communication.

A day in the life:
Developing and maintaining personal involvement with clients - understanding their needs, trends and opportunities;
Positioning WSP as a key advisor and consultant for our clients, and a true business partner;
Representing WSP in the community to raise local brand awareness;
Building strong relationships with management of the geotechnical and other WSP business lines, including finding opportunities for partnership;
You'll provide technical assistance in troubleshooting construction-related problems and assist project managers with quality control or quality assurance testing issues, and attend site visits, meetings, etc. as required as well as other tasks that might arise from time to time;
You'll prepare proposals, cost estimates, and project timelines, as well as lead the planning, field support and completion of geotechnical site investigations;
You'll perform all aspects of geotechnical investigations for buildings, highways, bridges, retaining walls, slope stability, and municipal infrastructure;
You'll review and interpret the monitoring information from geotechnical instrumentation and testing programs and provide geotechnical design recommendations and parameters for analyses and design of structure foundations through report review and writing;
You will actively work with up-and-coming talent in the market by building and cultivating strong pools of future geotechnical talent.
We'd love to hear from you if you have...
A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical emphasis;
A P.Eng. designation with APEGM or qualified to obtain within 3 months after employment;
10+ years of related experience and familiar with local engineering practice and regulations;
A customer-service focused with clients and ability to build long-term partnerships with clients;
A reciprocal mindset and curiosity for pushing boundaries in thinking and acting;
An employee-centric mindset with a passion for connecting and uncovering hidden potential in people.
