WSP is currently seeking a Project Field Coordinator to join our Project Management team, located at our Kitimat, BC office. Reporting to the Director, Advisory & Project Management, BC & Yukon this position will be responsible for acting as a conduit between the Site and the resourcing needs that WSP will provide.  This position is full time on site in Kitmat and managed out of the Vancouver office.


  • Hot Work Permitting
  • Confined Space Permitting
  • Excavation Permitting
  • Job Hazard Checklist and Job Safety Analysis creation and coordination with suppliers and Site Contractor Safety rep
  • Scope review and refinement to capture feasible constructability expectations
  • Purchasing Services Company liaison for projects (Safety pre-qualification/insurance verification site point of contact, purchasing will perform evaluations, this role is just to be the point of contact)
  • work order creation for projects
  • Project scheduling support and planning coordinator for outages and liaison between production/maintenance/management/EHS/consulting teams
  • SmartPlant drawing package prep between contractors and central engineering/doc control
  • In-Field coordinator between plant Subject Matter Experts and contractors to answer questions or give guidance during construction or coordinate meetings with engineering as needed
  • In-field training coordinator for new systems with production & maintenance
  • In-field commissioning and project close-out coordinator
  • Engineering design coordinator
  • Other duties as assigned/required.


  • 3-5 years' experience working with a Construction, Design, or Project Management Firm
  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or minimum 2 year Construction Engineering/Management diploma
  • Understanding of construction processes and terminology
  • Service oriented with demonstrated initiative
  • Previous experience drafting budgets, cash flows, and preliminary schedules is an asset
  • Ability to review drawings, budgets and Contractor quotations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - verbal, written, and presentation
