Vancouver

WSP is growing and looking for key staff in our Transportation Planning group. We are currently seeking an EIT to join our Transportation Planning group in the Transportation department of our Vancouver office. Reporting to the Transportation Planning Manager, this position provides the opportunity to expand your transportation knowledge base, gain valuable technical skills used within the industry, to interact with clients and stakeholders, and provide transportation recommendations as part of your everyday work .

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data collection, data assembly, data processing/validation and field investigations for transportation studies, including traffic counts, travel time runs and inventories of roadway elements ;
  • Carrying out traffic and transportation analysis under the direction of Transportation Engineers and Project Managers ;
  • Assisting in the development of project alternatives, analysis and evaluation under the direction of Transportation Engineers and Project Managers ;
  • Helping to prepare high  quality project deliverables, including print documentation, graphics and presentations;
  •  Aid in the development of corridor alternatives, analysis and evaluation; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or urban planning degree with emphasis in Transportation Planning;
  • A solid understanding of traffic engineering and traffic signal operations.  Experience with transportation related software packages (i.e. Synchro, HCS and VISSIM) would be considered an asset;
  • A solid understanding in AutoCAD and ArcGIS an asset;
  • Highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges;
  • Committed team player;
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills; and
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
