POSITION DESCRIPTION

WSP is seeking an Electrical Engineer to help develop and manage growing electrical engineering services for Power projects in Western Canada. The position will be based in Western Canada.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Business development, market presence and client care will be important aspects of this role
  • Develop and manage project quality, budgets, schedules, and resource levels
  • Liaise closely with established technical teams to coordinate engineering work
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities to grow WSP’s team and services and supporting this growth by participating in the hiring of additional staff
  • Supervision of engineering resources
  • Engineering process implementation and application
  • Coordination with relevant regulatory authorities and utilities
  • Communication and documentation to support progress and profitability reporting
  • Bid management
  • Provide due diligence support for Advisory Services mandates     
  • Some travel to and from client sites and/or temporary secondment to client site may be required
  • Contract review and management

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Electrical engineer with a power or high voltage background
  • P.Eng. designation
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience
  • Knowledge of the Western Canadian Power market
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven business development experience
  • Demonstrated success coordinating a multi-disciplinary team
  • Proven experience leading, managing and delivering significant projects to time, cost and quality objectives
  • Demonstrable experience working cooperatively and effectively with a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience with contracts and contract administration considered an asset
  • Pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving
