WSP is currently looking to fill Automation Specialist positions for our Industrial Automation departments located at our offices in Quebec City. Reporting to the Business Unit Director, System Integration, the employee will be responsible for designing, programming and commissioning the various automation systems in accordance with client expectations.



  • Participate in automation project design;
  • Gather technical information from the client;
  • Analyze inputs and create optimal solutions to meet client needs;
  • Prepare the lists of items required to complete projects;
  • Program man-machine interfaces and industrial controllers;
  • Test and correct designed programs;
  • Collaborate in commissioning control systems and act as a resource person when required;
  • Offer technical support after the start-up of the new systems;
  • Perform any other related tasks that may help advance the projects entrusted to him/her.


  • College or university diploma in electrical engineering, IT, instrumentation and control or any other training deemed equivalent;
  • 2-10 years of relevant experience;
  • Good project management skills;
  • Command of Rockwell Automation, Schneider, Wonderware and Siemens technology is considered a major asset;
  • Knowledge of Ethernet networks is considered a plus; Mobility: the candidate must be able to make occasional trips of varying length (1-6 weeks) as part of his/her assignments. These trips will mostly be in Quebec, but may also involve international travel; 
  • Takes initiative, detail-oriented and able to work in a team; 
  • Able to offer excellent customer service; 
  • Bilingualism considered a plus.
