WSP is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Infrastructure Facilities team, located at our Thornhill office.  Reporting to the Manager this position will be responsible for mechanical engineering focusing on Municipal projects (HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection). You will work in the team designing water and wastewater pumping station and treatment plants providing for HVAC selection and design, reconfigurations and calculations. The incumbent will be involved in the project from the initial kick-off meeting to project closeout, as well as attending design coordination meetings.



  • Must be able to complete the majority of project work independently, with final review and stamp by P.Eng
  • Understanding of ASHRAE 62 for ventilation requirements and NFPA 820
  • Enjoy a fast-paced environment, proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet quick deadlines
  • Will complete all design work using AutoCAD or Revit.


  • Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, and eligible other provinces
  • Minimum of 13 years of mechanical engineering design experience
  • Strong knowledge of industrial systems, specializing in Municipal projects including: HVAC reconfigurations; simplified spreadsheet and HAP HVAC calculations; hydronic piping design; computer/LAN room A/C systems; plumbing and drainage; sprinkler and standpipe systems;
  • Good team player, coordination with other disciplines and client essential
  • Strong spoken and written technical skills; ability to communicate issues concisely
  • Must have strong knowledge and fluent in AutoCAD 2014 / 2017 and Revit.
