WSP is currently seeking IT project controller to join our IT Department, located at our Montreal office. Reporting to the Global Director IT Strategy, Governance & PMO, the IT Project controller will assume the responsibility for the effective day to day running of our PMO. This individual this individual will be the first point of contact to provide knowledge of the most current tools, methods, procedures and equipment in Project Management. The individual shall have expert knowledge and provide support and guidance on project management processes and procedures.



  • Responsible for establishing, standardizing, and leading project management practices. Advising on and supporting the principles for the successful management of projects throughout the project life cycle. Setting and controlling project criteria, guidelines, financials and limitations.
  • Tracking, analysing and reporting progress and performance of all IT projects within our department
  • Improve and maintain effective communications statuses to all stakeholders 
  • Providing support in tracking and reporting progress and performance of one or more projects. Producing and maintaining plans regarding time frames and Resourcing, following processes to ensure project financial control, financial reporting and variance analysis. Develop strategies to minimize financial risk; creates synergies and standards to follow 
  • Producing detailed plans with the project team(s), anticipating resource usage and availability, scheduling for optimum efficiency and maintaining metric data and estimating models
  • Providing generic advice and support for the development of business cases, project charters, weekly reports, executive dashboards and audit reports
  • Proactively streamlining and automating manual processes and procedures
  • Reporting the progress and anticipated problems within project(s) to Senior Management, including actual, forecasted and budget
  • Tracking, analysing and reporting progress and performance of all IT projects within the organisation.
  • Manage the IT group budget, consistently follow the processes to ensure the budget is managed 
  • Facilitate and coordinate the efforts toward the establishment of the IT Investments portfolio, its progress, structure and processes, from demand management and strategic alignment to categories and criteria


  • Bachelor's or master's degree in information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience;
  • Three or more years of experience in IT Project Control;
  • Ten years of experience in diverse IT roles and increasing responsibilities including experience as a business analyst;
  • Excellent administrative skills, coupled with a general understanding of the project life cycle, project documentation, project standards and methodologies;
  • Excellent planning and analysis and skills. Good Understanding of the project life cycle, project documentation, project standards and methodologies. Ability to work according to strict deadlines and manage various demands. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize and use initiative;
  • Familiarity with one or m project/program management methodologies (such as PMI PMBOK and Agile) and across a range of projects and programs;
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and financial analysis skills, and familiarity with PMO processes and tools;
  • Highly empathetic and able to vary styles of interaction to match the needs of a variety of business and technical audiences, as well as temperaments and personalities;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and French).
