What we are looking for:
Immersion is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer who is excited to incorporate the sense of touch into human computer interfaces. The successful candidate will be involved in ideation, design, development, and implementation of electronic elements in our haptic interfaces in ground-breaking areas like virtual/augmented reality, mobile devices, tactile internet, and automotive. The Senior Electronics Engineer will report to the VP of R&D, who oversees and supervises all development and innovation efforts in the company.
The successful candidate must have proven experience in hands-on design of embedded systems electronics for medium and high-volume consumer products. The candidate must have direct experience with digital electronics including 8, 16, and 32bit microcontrollers; experience designing power electronics is also highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have a strong documented record of taking electronic designs with small- to mid-size volume from concept to production. Familiarity with the unique challenges designing for larger volume, low cost applications, including tolerance analysis, failure analysis and critical component identification is highly desirable. This position requires both the ability to work independently and to make collaborative, creative contributions within a project group. It also requires interaction with several other teams beyond the advanced development team, including user experience (UX) and Research groups. A strong team-oriented mindset with a self-starter attitude is essential.
