PUBLICIST FOR SOCIAL MEDIA AND CONTENT – NICK CANNON MORNING SHOW

We’re expanding our team and looking for a connected, creative and outgoing Publicist to push our digital and social content to platforms for sharing, posting and earned media. This person should bring 4+ years of PR agency experience with a database of close media connects. Experience working with talent and influencers is required. Position is based in Meruelo Media’s Burbank studios.
You will be responsible for overseeing the Nick Cannon Morning show social media and content team, engaging with press partners and platforms at all levels to generate a high energy buzz, views, shares and increased exposure to the Nick Cannon Morning Show and Meruelo Media produced content.
Must have the capability to direct distribution of all content generated in-house to all sources relevant to our brand and show. Must have strong industry contacts and means of outlets to distribute and generate excitement around our show, talent and brands.
Develop and lead effective and innovative PR and Social Media execution plans in conjunction with the overall marketing and morning show strategy
Partner with talent, business units and business leaders with existing projects and be involved in pitching new projects. This entails research and development, drafting media pitches, press materials and distributing them regularly, etc.
Pitch and secure editorial features in print, online, social media and broadcast media across the US, for both national and Los Angeles regional outlets.
Coordinate with team and attend press junkets/ set visits, scheduling and overseeing press screenings, pitching and coordinating press coverage at premiers, covering talent interviews with broadcast, print and online media.
Track media results and metrics for successful execution of projects and exposure of the Nick Cannon show.
Work with VP of Digital and Nick Cannon to create content calendar.
Assist with budget and team creation and development
Network with members of the media (print, TV, radio, online) and key influencers to ensure superlative coverage for all resources and outlets
Carrying out detailed market study of the industry, analyzing the latest market trends, tracking competitor activities and providing valuable inputs regarding the morning show and brand
Engage and train other department employees on the responsible and effective use of day to day activities and campaigns
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English, or other relevant field
6+ years of experience working as a Social Media expert, PR agency or in-house
5+ years of experience in managing or working with industry related talent, outlets and key agencies and expertise networking
Experience with existing media relationships across verticals
Must understand our brand and culture and have a passionate urgency to elevate the success of the brand and show
Strong writing and verbal communication skills are required.
