The Arkansas State University Department of Art + Design seeks applicants for a full-time, instructor position in Game Design and Development beginning August 16, 2020. The Art + Design department seeks to create a Game Design B.F.A. degree program that provides a strong focus on design and mechanical development as well as supplemental courses in programming. The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to help craft and build the Game Design degree program.
The successful candidate will be prepared to inspire and mentor liberal arts students from many backgrounds and nations, including underrepresented and marginalized groups.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required or applicable to the position responsibilities and area of specialization, including special abilities
Demonstrable game design skills
Working knowledge of contemporary topics surrounding game design and theory
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed

MFA in Game Design, Digital Art, New Media, or other related studio field; MFA degree awarded by the position’s start date
Proficiency in Maya, Zbrush, Unity, Unreal, or other related software for game design and development
Successful university-level teaching experience beyond graduate assistantships
Experience with 2D animation and sprite design
