Job Summary Research Lab Technologist needed to perform flow cytometry staining of whole blood in a clinical setting. You will prepare collection materials for shipment/transport, maintain records, and clean and disinfect equipment as needed. You will also partner with research specialist staff to ensure scheduling and study needs are met.
Primary Essential Duties  Work in clinical setting staining whole blood samples for immunopheno typing immediately after blood draw according to established protocol  Position may include some acquisition and analysis of samples on flow cytometers  Keep records of staining samples for submission to primary partner

Education and Experience Required

 Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent required; some related post-undergraduate work experience preferred

 Experience working with biological samples, must have excellent laboratory skills and be able to work efficiently and quickly to process samples within specific time limits

 Experience in preparing samples for flow cytometry preferred

 Experience working with a broadly diverse population and ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals required.


Working Conditions:
Working conditions for this position are normal for an office environment. Individual may be required to work evenings and / or weekends and organization events.


Physical Demands:
 Lifting: No more than 20 lbs. and infrequently.
 Movement: Standing and sitting for long periods.
 Visual: Long periods on computer.
 Concentration: Extended periods of engagement with computer systems where concentration is key to accuracy in data entry. Intermittent periods of engagement with a telephone system to respond to inquiries where concentration is key to task performance.
 Communication: Direct and indirect communication. Written and verbal competency.
