Technatomy is seeking a Director, FedCiv Business Development to lead business development and sales efforts for select Federal Civilian Agencies.  Initial focus will be pursuing and closing on business opportunities within the Departments of Treasury, Commerce, Interior and Homeland Security.

Job Functions:

  • Prospects for new Federal Civilian Agency opportunities.

  • Defines long-term organizational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies and qualifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals, and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

  • Builds pipelines and establishes targets for sales and revenue growth.

  • Develops strategic account plans for targeted agencies.

  • Develops sales and capture strategies working with internal personnel and partners.

  • Develops a pipeline of new business opportunities for assigned accounts and supports the capture effort for identified opportunities.


POSITION DESCRIPTION (Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Develop, implement, and manage Account Plans.

  • Develop and manage a revenue growth budget.

  • Prospect for potential Federal Civilian Agency business opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain multiple sales channels, i.e. direct, teaming, mentor protege, JVs.

  • Identify and build relationships with potential clients, and with the decision makers within targeted Agencies. 

  • Work with company technical staff and other internal colleagues to fully understand core competencies and corporate experience.

  • Arrange and participate in internal and external prospective client presentations and discussions.

  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.

  • Support opportunity closure through qualification of partners, creation of bid teams, qualification of requirements, developing technical/management strategies, crafting win themes/discriminators, and developing pricing strategy. 

  • Make capture decisions and support the proposal effort by presenting win strategies, coordinating technical proposal resources (SMEs, partners, & writers), and supporting the development of the technical and management approach.



  • Requires a thorough knowledge of Federal Civilian Agencies, the prospective clients, the market, competitors and potential Teaming partners. 

  • Requires a thorough knowledge of the Federal procurement process.

  • Demonstrated evidence of successful capture experience.

  • Successful experience performing business development for some or all of the initial target agencies preferred (e.g., Departments of Treasury, Commerce, Interior and Homeland Security).

  • Experience working with other companies that provide IT services and solutions to Federal Civilian Agencies.

  • Experience developing account and capture plans.

  • In-depth knowledge of the typical industry capture and proposal process.



  • Occasional business travel within USA

  • PMP

Education (Minimum Requirements):

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree for a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired

  • A minimum of 10 years of business development experience

  • Formal proposal process and development training desired.
