SUMMARY OF PROGRAM/PROJECT

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Program Executive Office (PEO), J62, Enterprise Application Support mission requires providing consolidated application support and technical services to Information Technology (IT) programs and projects across the DLA IT Enterprise.

This consolidated application support includes, but is not limited to, application database

administration, application-level web system administration, and technical support for up to an estimated 300 DLA Applications/Systems hosted in production, test, development, and/or staging environments hosted in government or commercial cloud and on-premise environments.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION (Duties and Responsibilities):

Candidate(s) shall be an experienced Senior Systems Administrator with enterprise application and web-based application systems administration experience.  Position will entail support of Government-off-the-Shelf (GOTS) applications, Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) implementations and other tools to improve diagnostic efficiencies.  Various operating system platforms including Window/Linux/UNIX will be supported in multiple environments at the application and middleware level including Development, Test, Stage and Production. 

Subject matter expert level knowledge will be provided to assist with application project planning through implementation in collaboration with other system administrators, database administrators, telecom engineers, and development teams.  Architectural planning; service request form creation; Ports, protocols and Service Management documentation; and technical assistance will be provided in collaboration with PMs and implementation teams. Tier III customer support and COOP planning/documentation will be performed.

Installation, configuration, maintenance and day-to-day support for applications running in an environment comprised of Windows Server 2008 or higher, IIS 7.x or higher, Apache Tomcat, .NET framework, JAVA and Oracle/SQL Server DB will be required.  Participation in new installations and configurations supporting Cloud migration projects; supporting technology refreshes, software upgrades or patches for application, web applications and COTS applications will be performed as assigned.

Information Assurance, risk management and cyber security activities will be performed and supported to maintain security standards, DLA/DISA CERT security requirements and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS).  Support may be provided for both NIPRNet and SIPRNet environments.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS - REQUIRED:  

Candidate must be able to demonstrate experience and expertise in the following areas:

  • Ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and communication links.

  • Analyze and resolve end user software program and connectivity issues.

  • Provides end user training.

  • Provide recommendations on technology direction to align with business vision.

  • Provide both local and remote maintenance support to various operational systems deployed at more than one location.

  • Support general maintenance, upgrades, and new installs of servers and applications.

  • Apply advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing applications, and ensuring fault tolerance.

  • Perform vulnerability management.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS - DESIRED:

  • Experience with DoD / DLA software and system lifecycle sustainment

  • Experience with Remedy

  • Experience in configuration, change and release management disciplines

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Seven (7) years of progressive experience in the field of Information Processing, six of which are specialized in numerous specialized Information Processing disciplines involving a range of hardware/software solutions; and four of which are concentrated, hands-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software.

  • At least 2 years of experience in supporting DoD Program Acquisition Category (ACAT) I Level and ACAT III Level IT Development Programs

  • Bachelor’s Degree desired

 

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Required: Baseline certification (CompTIA Security+ or higher); and relevant Computing Environment (CE) certification meeting Information Assurance Technical  Level II (IAT II) IAW DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance (IA) Workforce Improvement Program

    ICAgile (MEAN), BMC Accredited Administrator: BMC Remedy AR System 9.0., BMC Remedy AR System 9X Admin., Vmware Airwatch, JDA ADMIN, BMC_ITSM, Linux +, WEBMETHODS, SAP CTA NetWeaver 7.31, SAP CTA SYS ADMIN (Oracle DB), SAP Netweaver 7.31, GSSP-JAVA, Java SE 7 Programmer, Java SE 8 Programmer, Oracle WebLogic Server 11g or Oracle WebLogic Server 12c

  • Desired: ACAT certification

    DoD Secret

  • U.S. Citizenship required
