Logistics/Traffic Analyst 

Job Summary:

Organizes and implements a variety of responsibilities related to the flow of materials, products, services and associated systems information. Duties involve but are not limited to supply chain services, import/export compliance. Main contact with brokerage and customs clearance partners supporting critical parts and equipment availability. Evaluates transport methods to balance needs with sales and field service commitments to ensure customer requirements are met. Serves as liaison between sales, marketing and logistics partners. Assists in developing logistics plans and procedures and creation of detailed work instructions.

Implements key supply chain strategies related to Sales and Marketing Support, Inventory Control and Cold Chain import and export solutions. Provides support and interacts directly with MGIA Sales and Marketing Teams on supply and delivery related questions. The position requires the ability to quickly and accurately assess and solve complex issues related to logistics and how they affect the customer experience.

Preferred that candidate has Purchasing experience to support department needs in a backup role. Manages all incoming and outgoing shipments thru the entire supply chain (door to door).

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and deliver on cost savings opportunities.

  • Prompt review and submission of shipping documents to customs broker.

  • Collaborate effectively with Sales, Marketing and Inventory Control colleagues.

  • Compliance to procurement and logistics policies & procedures. Provides recommendations for changes or improvements.

  • Documents new processes and provides detailed work instructions (SOP’s)

  • Primary contact with international commerce team in managing the scheduling of inbound and outbound shipments

  • Complete and maintain training requirements to support the primary responsibilities of the position and the back-up support for other related functions.

  • Manages Inbound Order activities and provides all related shipping schedules to stakeholders

  • Deliver a high level of customer service within the company/firm while displaying a positive can-do attitude within a fast paced, complex and demanding environment.

  • Tightly manages all inbound and outbound cold chain shipments to ensure successful delivery of materials at the required temperature

  • Supports collection of data for Shipping Metrics

  • Cross train on IProcurement and Purchasing Modules

  • Identify and solve bottleneck issues within the Supply Chain shipping workflow

  • Formalize and Review Shipping processes in an SOP format

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3 to 10 years of Logistics/Procurement experience in a R&D/Commercial environment in which the expected skill set above was used extensively.

  • Previous experience in a variety of cross functional/administrative roles that include coordinating logistics with specific deliverables is preferred.

  • Ability to quickly analyze problems, investigate and determine solutions.

  • Able to manage a wide variety of tasks, maintain and communicate task status to stakeholders.

  • Always notifies in advance when a risk of late delivery arises.

  • Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Able to use these standard tools in a highly efficient manner.

  • Oracle ERP Experience Preferred
