Staff Scientist, NGS Assay

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced molecular biologists, biochemists or chemists, to join our product development team. The candidate will be responsible for developing NGS based assays on microfluidic platform. The position will report to the director of Advanced Microfluidics and will lead product development, from conceptualization to commercialization. He/She will closely interact and collaborate with interdisciplinary technology groups from Engineering, Software, and Manufacturing teams. The successful candidate must be prepared to engage in wet-lab driven research works and have strong analytical skills and strong oral/written communication skills.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct product development from feasibility test through transferring to manufacture.
  • Design, optimize, carry out and trouble shoot experiments for NGS panel products on microfluidic system and perform in-depth data analysis.
  • Establish microfluidic sample preparation and assay workflows as well as quality control system.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers for full system development.
  • Collaborate with oversea teams for product launch.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of combined industry and post-doctoral work experience, experience in NGS panel assay development required.
  • Extensive experience with standard molecular biology and sequencing library preparation required
  • Experiences with product development processes from initial proof of concept through transfer to manufacturing required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Experience with IVD kit development is a plus.
  • Experience working with different sample types such as FFPE, whole blood or urine is a plus.
  • System integration and assay development experience is a plus.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Life Sciences (Molecular biology, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology
  • Fluent Mandarin speaker
